I’m Ready for a Multi-Pronged Effort
Starting in Internet Marketing is difficult because there are so many things to learn and every site you go to tries to sell you something (including, occasionally, this one :-).
I plan to make a multi-pronged effort with my Internet marketing efforts. First, I have a multi-level marketing business that sells fresh, all natural, pet food formulated by the world-famous pet nutritionist, Dr. Jane Bicks. Dr. Jane received three Presidential citations, has written many books on pet nutrition, appeared on Animal Planet TV and many other shows, and built the largest pet rescue shelter in the US in NYC at Mayor Rudie Giuliani’s request. The pet food is called Life’s Abundance and is delivered fresh to your door (pet food from stores sits up to 18 months in uncontrolled climates and is loaded with dangerous chemical preservatives). My company is Wholesome Pet Supply and the products I sell are manufactured for Healthy Pet Net, a division of Trilogy International. Please take a minute to check out my web site at:

I just finished taking a Dreamweaver web site development course. Dreamweaver is the most popular package used by professional web site developers and, being an old computer hack, I wanted to use the best software available. I will use Dreamweaver to build my own web sites. This allows me to control content, which is critical when using products like Google’s AdWords to promote your business. I’ve had great success with Google AdWords, but they can be expensive. I want to cut my costs and improve my order rate. That’s why I want to develop my own web sites.
Google has a formula for deciding on the “goodness” of an ad. A huge component of how much you pay and your placement on search result pages is how relevant you ad is compared to the content of your web site landing page (the page you see when you click the link). If I use the web site Healthy Pet Net provides as my landing page, I am severely restricted as to what my ads can say because the content of the landing page never changes. With my own landing pages, I can test as many different ads and landing pages as I want, all of which point to the same order site. This should significantly increase my number of orders while at the same time reducing my cost per order. I’ll let you know about my progress on these pages.
Of course, I need to host my web site. See my blog entry Hosting Your Web Site to learn how to do this.
Second, I plan to re-sell selected products through affiliate programs (I will be discussing affiliate programs on these pages soon). Many affiliate companies provide web sites for you. There are literally thousands of products out there. You choose a product, sign-up to sell it and get a commission ranging from 25% - 75% depending on the product. I will only promote products I have personally researched or used, not just pick a hundred at random and “throw them against the wall” and see what sticks. When you do that, you never know what kind of junk you are associating with your name.
Third, I want to develop my own products. I have several areas of expertise in which I feel qualified to write ebooks that can help people interested in those areas. I’ll describe my efforts on this blog when the time comes.
Forth, I have used several Get Paid To programs. They work and you can make money, but they do take time (see my “Get Paid To” (GPT) Websites blog entry).
Fifth, I am researching a number of other areas, but I do not want to overextend myself, so I am going to concentrate on the first and second items for now, until I have reached at least a modicum of success.
Check back here often to see how I’m doing.
