"Get Paid To" (GPT) Websites

One of the easiest and quickest ways to earn money on the Internet is to sign up for some of the “get paid to” (GPT) websites. These a proven method of making money online, especially for anyone unfamiliar with the process of building websites or selling online. These websites are essentially middlemen between advertisers and you, the end-user or consumer. Advertisers pay these companies to generate leads and attract potential customers onto their services. These sites will pass a portion of what they earn to you when you patronize or visit the advertisers.

Some of the types of things you do on these sites to earn money are:

  • Complete surveys
  • Read email advertisements
  • Subscribing to email newsletters
  • Refer friends to purchase a product
  • Open free website user accounts
  • Purchase refundable trial products/subscriptions (be sure to cancel before the trial ends)

If you complete these offers you get paid for each of them. Be aware that there are many scams going on in the Get Paid To industry and that many of the companies have gone out of business. Of course, there are cheaters and unscrupulous individuals who sign up for these surveys too.

Still, many GPT websites that are legitimate, highly credible and are staffed by responsible men and women. I will not discuss any on this blog that we haven’t personally used unless I am very clear that I have not tried them, but after a lot of research the #1 company (out of several dozen I’ve found that look to be legitimate) appears to be CashCrate.

What we did was to setup two free Google email addresses; one that is our logon id to CashCrate and one that we use to enter into the surveys we complete. This second one is a “throw away” email that all the ads and SPAM get sent to. We also went to http://www.privatephone.com/ and signed up for a free private phone number for our area. This is an incoming service only. You setup a greeting message. Whenever anyone calls you can have it send a text message to your mobile phone. You can listen to your voice messages on the web. It’s really cool (and, did I mention, free?). You use this number when you don’t want to give out your personal phone number(s) or have salesmen calling you constantly.

When you fill out the surveys, you must answer them honestly. We do not fill in surveys that require a credit card number or get too personal about our financial status, other than a general question about annual family income. However, we are being paid to answer the questions honestly, so we do that. If you are caught giving false information, you could lose your CashCrate membership (the emails and phone number we use are real, just not our “normal” ones). We need to use real information when filling out the surveys and offers so we can get rid of the fraud problems the advertisers are facing.

When filing out surveys, read the instructions carefully. You may be sent an email (which would go to your “throwaway” mailbox) that contains a link that you need to click to complete your registration. You’ll have to do that. You may also have to do some minor follow-up action after you confirm your registration. Do whatever it asks or your survey will be rejected.

Will you get more junk mail in your snail mail mailbox. I’d suspect so. We haven’t seen it yet, but it’s probably coming. That’s easy to dump. We just don’t want our regular email or home/cell phones clogged with junk.

There are easier ways to make money on the Internet than filling out surveys all day, and they will be discussed in future posts, but they require blogs or web sites. GPT does not require anything except a browser. We don’t make this a main source of income, but we do a few here and there and it adds up (if you have a laptop you can even do a few while watching American Idol :-). Even $4-5 a day is over $100 a month. Users who meet CashCrate’s minimum payout of $10 have their payments processed by the 20th of the following month. So, if you earn $250 in June, you’ll get paid in mid-July. A check is sent directly to you.

One way to make more money at this is to become an affiliate (which is free, as most affiliate programs are) then refer people to CashCrate. The referral program is explained in detail on the web site, but basically you earn 20% of what your referrals make and 10% of what their referrals make. You’ll also receive a $3.00 bonus for each referral who meets the $10 minimum payout. Don’t worry, your referrals are not getting paid less. This is extra money that you get paid in addition to what they get paid.

So, if you are at all interested in this program, please use this button to go to CashCrate and sign up. I’m giving you a lot of valuable information free. I’d appreciate a small referral commission in return. Thank you!

Check back here often for new posts, which are added 4-5 times a week (or more, if I’m in a writing mood :-). And remember, this is an educational site only. I am not advising you to do anything. All decisions, and their results, are strictly your responsibility.
